This image leads me to ask a question: Is this a converted digital image? I ask because, if it is, your conversion technique is superb.

Yes, it is a converted digital image from a shot made with my 5D and (IIRC) the 24-105mm f/4 L lens.
I do my conversions in Photoshop CS3, using the new “black and white” layer tool, usually followed by some adjustments to curves and some dodging and burning.

Ah, I’m stuck in CS2 still. Thanks for the info.
Rob, there is a way to do it there, too. I’m trying to remember where it is though – perhaps a layer that lets you adjust the relative level of different color channels and which has a “monochrome” check box or similar? I used to do it that way with decent success.
(Sorry, but I don’t have CS2 installed anymore… and my brain can’t afford to use up scarce memory space remembering how to run software I don’t have any more! :-)
