What are YOU shooting this weekend?

Just saw a twitter (ahem, a tweet..) from Jim Goldstein asking what folks are shooting on this spring weekend. My immediate plan is to get out and photograph some of the “impossibly green” California grassland and some spring wildflowers this weekend – but also to prepare for an upcoming visit to Death Valley.

What are you shooting this weekend and beyond?

  1. Ivan: Yesterday I shot at the closest location that I regularly visit, a small canyon near the Mockingbird Hill entrance to Almaden Quicksilver County Park. This little canyon starts not more than 5 minutes from the trailhead, but it contains one of the most interesting wildflower displays that I know of around here. In contrast to the more obvious large fields of Golden Poppies and so forth, in this steep and shaded canyon there are many, many different types of flowers in close proximity. My favorite, the Chinese Lantern flower, is not out yet – but many others are.

This morning I may make a quick run down to Calero County park, with its grasslands, oaks, and occasional shady valleys. I know of a view good wildflower spots there as well.

I’m keeping my shooting “expeditions” a bit short this weekend. I have a lot of things to take care of before a somewhat longer shoot starting later this week.

    Take care,

    Dan

  2. Haven’t decided yet, but I’m thinking in similar lines, perhaps to go to Santa Cruz mountains, or hit a hike somewhere in the SC Valley.

Where are you headed to capture the flowers, Dan?
